The United Nations General Assembly has declared March 21 as International Forest Day, a day to
promote forests and raise awareness of its importance.

Over 80% of terrestrial species of animals, plants and fungi live in forests. Forests cover a third of the
world’s land area and are home to over 60,000 tree species worldwide. The forest means the survival
of both animals and humans.

Khalil Gibran said that trees are a song that the Earth writes down in the sky. We tear it down and
turn it into paper so we can record our own emptiness. Many are not aware that a forest can survive
without us, but we cannot without it.

Jane Goodall says the forest is a temple, a cathedral with treetops and dancing light. For me,
it is an oasis of peace where I recharge my batteries, relax and is a constant source of ideas for my
paintings: trees, roots, play of light … I meditate while walking in the woods. Which way does the forest
touch you?

And please, once you leave the forest, leave only the trampled footprints behind you!

I’m not one of those people saying they would just do everything exactly the way they did. Looking back, I would definitely do some things differently, some I wouldn’t do at all, and at certain moments in my life, I would do what I otherwise wouldn’t.

However, when I take the canvas, I have every opportunity to change it, to make it again … until I feel that this is it and until I am satisfied with the final product. I can fix it countless times if I want to. Have you heard of the timeline? This is one of the things that really impressed me while learning neuro-linguistic programming. I can systematically change my timeline, and I can reinforce these changes with a picture of my desired future timeline.

What do you imagine, what is your first thought, feeling… when I say power of painting? And if I say power of a healing painting? Or simply a healing painting ?

I invite you to choose a painting – Still Life XI… relax… look at the painting and allow yourself to feel. Looking at the painting relaxes you… you are wondering how deep the painting can take you. Can you feel the colors? Can you imagine touching the paint with your fingers? What are the colors like… soft? … warm? …. Can you hear the colors? What are they telling you? You can close your eyes, is the painting different now? Let go, relax. You can continue to relax and feel, or you can simply go back to the painting. You can go into the painting, immerse yourself in the colors, if you want. I want you to completely relax, let go… and wait for the colors to come to you… and establish a dialogue with them. Can you listen to my painting? What is it telling you? Can you sense a certain feeling? Ask the painting what is its purpose, what does it want to give you? Embrace all the pleasant experiences… slowly move away from the painting and take the time to relive the experience again … and be the painting.
